PBS / OPERA GRAND RAPIDS (2024)
Colvin Theatrical produced and executive produced the social justice opera capture STINNEY: An American Execution, along with its accompanying documentary, alongside PBS. Working closely with PBS’s Director of Programming, Emmy-winning (Live From Lincoln Center) producer Douglas Chang, Colvin Theatrical made STINNEY the first opera ever shot on cinema cameras - and also produced an accompanying documentary with community leaders. The program aired in June 2024, and is available on the PBS app. Its innovative technical approach earned director (and Colvin Theatrical founder) Cody Colvin two nicknames - “the next Karl Freund” from Barbara Hogenson, and “the next Desi Arnaz” from a fmr. senior executive at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, after the legendary creatives responsible for creating the modern multicamera capture technique. SHEFIT (2023)
Colvin Theatrical, alongside market research sister company Colvin Strategy, were tasked with launching SHEFIT’s new Boss Longline Bra - in just 14 days.
Colvin Theatrical and Colvin Strategy conducted expedient market research, created a go-to-market strategy, and produced all photo and video content for the launch (both web and social) in just a few days. The product’s announcement video, written by Colvin, helped create a 2,000% engagement increase over the company’s prior 3-year average - creating a hype that the company hadn’t seen since its appearance on Shark Tank. AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY THEATRE (2021)
Colvin Theatrical’s digital solution allowed the American Association of Community Theatre’s bi-annual festival - the largest community theatre gathering in the world - to move to a virtual space, after facing the possibility of pandemic-forced cancellation.
For AACTFest, Colvin Theatrical produced 11 full-length cinematic theatre capture films - spanning Boston to Seattle - in under 27 days, while also providing promotional material and trailers to the festival. Colvin completed post-production on all 11 films in under 14 days. The festival was sponsored and supported by Disney Theatrical, Concord Theatricals, Broadway Licensing, Music Theatre International and more - and featured many of Broadway’s biggest names as keynote speakers. All 11 films were screened on Broadway on Demand.

COMFORT RESEARCH / BIG JOE (2022)
Comfort Research - creators of Big Joe, one of the world’s best-selling bean bag chairs - reached out to Colvin Theatrical to help them launch a new product line aimed at luxury markets. With CR’s team, Colvin built out the signature look of the new line and produced all of the line’s content, which helped elevate the company’s presence amongst luxury audiences. NO BRAKES - DOCUMENTARY (2023)
Colvin Theatrical executive produced the motorcar racing documentary No Brakes. Synopsis: A 63-year old racing driver, Mike Wright, attempts to revive his old championship-winning race car to compete again.
The film premiered in 2023 at the International Motor Film Awards in London, and was nominated for Best Documentary Episode - alongside BMW, Ferrari, Lambhorgini, Jeep, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Ford, and more.
No Brakes was a Gold Award Winner at the Spotlight Documentary Film Awards, and an Honorable Mention at the Grand Motoring Film Festival. It will release on streaming in 2024.

MATTHEW WHITAKER (2022)
Fresh off of his Colbert Show performance on CBS, famed pianist Matthew Whitaker and his quintet performed at Fulfilling the Dream, a charity event produced by legendary basketball player Wayman Britt.
Britt tasked Colvin Theatrical with executing a cinematic broadcast of the performance. Colvin used cinema cameras to create a live stream with shallow depth of field and a stunning front-row perspective - a first in live concert broadcasting.

Colvin Theatrical has enjoyed a multi-year relationship with Olivia Grace & Company, one of the US’s most successful face character entertainment companies. Our work with OG&C has included multicamera content production, event capture, and social content creation. Colvin Theatrical also helped Olivia Grace & Co. bring Princess Lida, below, to life on film, promoting Holland, Michigan’s annual festival, Tulip Time.
